This Fire Training Manual And Fire Safety Operational Booklet is provided in compliance with regulations SOLAS II-2:15.2.3.

The purpose of this Manual is to give all members of the ship’s company information on the fire fighting equipment provided on the ship and on the best methods of tackling an emergency situation involving fire.  This Manual is intended as a reference source for all crew members and a copy should be available in each crew mess room and recreation room or in each crew cabin in order that there is ready access to the contents. 

The contents of this Manual is generic in nature. However provision has been made for the inclusion of, or reference to the location of  information provided by equipment manufacturers or by the ship operator. The Master or officer responsible should use the Appendix in “List Of References To Additional Information Of Equipment Used Aboard.” in section 4 of this manual to give the location of this information if it is not added at the rear of the Manual.

This Manual may also be used as a guide and reference source for those persons whose duty it is to give instruction to other members of the crew in the use of fire fighting equipment. 

The Safety Officer or other responsible person nominated by the Master is responsible for the maintenance of all copies of this publication held onboard as well as the upkeep of the “List of additional references”. 

This version of the Fire Training Manual And Fire Safety Operational Booklet incorporates requirements of SOLAS 2020, IGC Code 2016, IMSBC Code 2018, IBC Code 2018, IMDG Code 2018, HSE Code, POLAR Code 2016, FSS Code 2015 and MODU Code 2017.
