This SOLAS Training Manual is provided in compliance with Regulations. SOLAS III-35

2

The purpose of this Manual is to give all members of the ship’s company information on the lifesaving equipment provided on the ship and on the best methods of survival in an emergency situation.  This Manual is intended as a reference source for all crew members and a copy should be available in each crew mess room and recreation room or in each crew cabin in order that there is ready access to the contents.

The contents of this Manual is generic in nature.  However, provision has been made for the inclusion of, or reference to the location of information provided by equipment manufacturers or by the ship operator.  The Master or officer responsible should use the Annexed “List Of References To Additional Information Of Equipment Used Aboard.” At the rear of this manual to give the location of this information if it is not added at the rear of the Manual.

This Manual may also be used as a guide and reference source for those persons whose duty it is to give instruction to other members of the crew in the use of life-saving equipment and in the best methods of survival at sea.

The Safety Officer or other responsible person nominated by the Master is responsible for the maintenance of all copies of this publication held onboard.

This version of the SOLAS Training Manual incorporates requirements of SOLAS 2020, and associated Codes such as the POLAR Code 2016, LSA Code 2017 and MODU Code 2010 and 2017 amendments as well as considering latest draft resolution of MSC such as MSC 101 of 2019.
